Franziska Fennert is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural professional from Rostock, Germany, born in 1984 and living and working in Indonesia since 2013. Her practice explores human behavior, economic constructions, and social structures within a global context, with a focus on ecological value systems and spiritual roots. Since participating in the Nature Art Residency in Tsukuba, Japan, in 2018, she has increasingly viewed the environment as an essential part of a progressive social system. In Yogyakarta, she explores circularity, sustainability, and nature-based spirituality as alternatives to prevailing linear structures. Her work combines European painting, East Asian aesthetics, mythology, philosophy, literature, and vernacular storytelling into a symbolic vocabulary reflecting cultural exchange and shared human experience.
