Men Sagan is a distinguished painter from Yogyakarta, born October 12th, 1948. He began painting during his teenage years, initially working within the tradition of Realism. As his painting techniques evolved, he became increasingly drawn to and influenced by Expressionism, eventually embracing the movement as the defining path of his artistic life. Men Sagan officially began his career as an Expressionist painter in 1970. Since then, he has actively held solo exhibitions and painting demonstrations, many of which were supported and inaugurated by prominent figures, including Soedjarwo, Ali Sadikin, Mrs. Nelly Adam Malik, Joop Ave, and Probo Sutedjo. His works have been collected by art collectors and embassies in various countries, and one of his paintings was selected by President Joko Widodo as an official gift for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
